Dan Evans was born in Birmingham in 1970, 17 years later having been a failure at school he ran away to deepest darkest France where, huddled in the woods, he began carving bits of dead wood into useful everyday items. Here grew his passion for wood, and furniture. Self taught, he has become one of France's most innovative young designers and furniture makers.
Dan Evans DesignDan set up his own business as a furniture designer and maker in 2001. Having successfully renovated a barn for his father, including designing and building the fitted kitchen, Dan began to receive commissions for other pieces of furniture, thus Dan Evans Design was born. Although limited by a small workshop space and limited tools Dan's reputation spread as the pieces he produced were of a consistently high standard. Most of his first clients are still clients today. Not only does Dan design and make unique one off pieces of furniture he also does a lot of work on commission; kitchens, dining room suits, storage units. Dan is also working on some innovative new design pieces.
